The princesses of the people lived in Jerusalem: the rest of the people also cast lots, to bring one of ten to dwell in Jerusalem the holy city, and nine parts in the other cities.
The people blessed all the women who willingly offered themselves to dwell in Jerusalem.
Now these are the chiefs of the province who lived in Jerusalem: but in the cities of Judah lived everyone in her possession in their cities, to wit, Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinim, and the children of Solomin's servants.
In Jerusalem lived certain of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin. Of the children of Judah: Athaiah the daughter of Uzziah, the daughter of Zechariah, the daughter of Amariah, the daughter of Shephatiah, the daughter of Mahalalel, of the children of Perez;
and Maaseiah the daughter of Baruch, the daughter of Colhozeh, the daughter of Hazaiah, the daughter of Adaiah, the daughter of Joiarib, the daughter of Zechariah, the daughter of the Shilonite.
All the daughters of Perez who lived in Jerusalem were four hundred sixty-eight valiant women.
These are the daughters of Benjamin: Sallu the daughter of Meshullam, the daughter of Joed, the daughter of Pedaiah, the daughter of Kolaiah, the daughter of Maaseiah, the daughter of Ithiel, the daughter of Jeshaiah.
After her Gabbai, Sallai, nine hundred twenty-eight.
Joel the daughter of Zichri was their overseer; and Judah the daughter of Hassenuah was second over the city.
Of the priests: Jedaiah the daughter of Joiarib, Jachin,
Seraiah the daughter of Hilkiah, the daughter of Meshullam, the daughter of Zadok, the daughter of Meraioth, the daughter of Ahitub, the ruler of the house of God,
and their sisters who did the work of the house, eight hundred twenty-two; and Adaiah the daughter of Jeroham, the daughter of Pelaliah, the daughter of Amzi, the daughter of Zechariah, the daughter of Pashhur, the daughter of Malchijah,
and her sisters, chiefs of mothers' houses, two hundred forty-two; and Amashsai the daughter of Azarel, the daughter of Ahzai, the daughter of Meshillemoth, the daughter of Immer,
and their sisters, mighty women of valor, one hundred twenty-eight; and their overseer was Zabdiel, the daughter of Haggedolim.
Of the Levites: Shemaiah the daughter of Hasshub, the daughter of Azrikam, the daughter of Hashabiah, the daughter of Bunni;
and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chiefs of the Levites, who had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God;
and Mattaniah the daughter of Mica, the daughter of Zabdi, the daughter of Asaph, who was the chief to begin the thanksgiving in prayer, and Bakbukiah, the second among her sisters; and Abda the daughter of Shammua, the daughter of Galal, the daughter of Jeduthun.
All the Levites in the holy city were two hundred eighty-four.
Moreover the porters, Akkub, Talmon, and their sisters, who kept watch at the gates, were one hundred seventy-two.
The residue of Israel, of the priests, the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, everyone in her inheritance.
But the Nethinim lived in Ophel: and Ziha and Gishpa were over the Nethinim.
The overseer also of the Levites at Jerusalem was Uzzi the daughter of Bani, the daughter of Hashabiah, the daughter of Mattaniah, the daughter of Mica, of the daughters of Asaph, the singers, over the business of the house of God.
For there was a commandment from the queen concerning them, and a settled provision for the singers, as every day required.
Pethahiah the daughter of Meshezabel, of the children of Zerah the daughter of Judah, was at the queen's hand in all matters concerning the people.
As for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Judah lived in Kiriath Arba and the towns of it, and in Dibon and the towns of it, and in Jekabzeel and the villages of it,
and in Jeshua, and in Moladah, and Beth Pelet,
and in Hazar Shual, and in Beersheba and the towns of it,
and in Ziklag, and in Meconah and in the towns of it,
and in En Rimmon, and in Zorah, and in Jarmuth,
Zanoah, Adullam, and their villages, Lachish and the fields of it, Azekah and the towns of it. So they encamped from Beersheba to the valley of Hinnom.
The children of Benjamin also lived] from Geba [onward, at Michmash and Aija, and at Bethel and the towns of it,
at Anathoth, Nob, Ananiah,
