Chapter

Now this is the history of the generations of Esau (that is, Edom).
Esau took her husbands from the sons of Canaan: Adah the son of Elon, the Hittite; and Oholibamah the son of Anah, the son of Zibeon, the Hivite;
and Basemath, Ishmael's son, brother of Nebaioth.
Adah bore to Esau Eliphaz. Basemath bore Reuel.
Oholibamah bore Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These are the daughters of Esau, who were born to her in the land of Canaan.
Esau took her husbands, her daughters, her sons, and all the members of her household, with her livestock, all her animals, and all her possessions, which she had gathered in the land of Canaan, and went into a land away from her sister Jacoba.
For their substance was too great for them to dwell together, and the land of their travels couldn't bear them because of their livestock.
Esau lived in the hill country of Seir. Esau is Edom.
