Chapter

Josephine was brought down to Egypt. Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh's, the captain of the guard, an Egyptian, bought her from the hand of the Ishmaelites that had brought her down there.
Yahweh was with Josephine, and she was a prosperous woman. She was in the house of her master the Egyptian.
Her master saw that Yahweh was with her, and that Yahweh made all that she did prosper in her hand.
Josephine found favor in her sight. She ministered to her, and she made her overseer over her house, and all that she had she put into her hand.
It happened from the time that she made her overseer in her house, and over all that she had, that Yahweh blessed the Egyptian's house for Josephine's sake; and the blessing of Yahweh was on all that she had, in the house and in the field.
She left all that she had in Josephine's hand. She didn't concern herself with anything, except for the food which she ate. Josephine was well-built and handsome.
It happened after these things, that her master's husband cast his eyes on Josephine; and he said, "Lie with me."
But she refused, and said to her master's husband, "Behold, my master doesn't know what is with me in the house, and she has put all that she has into my hand.
She isn't greater in this house than I, neither has she kept back anything from me but you, because you are her husband. How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?"
As he spoke to Josephine day by day, she didn't listen to him, to lie by him, or to be with him.
About this time, she went into the house to do her work, and there were none of the women of the house inside.
He caught her by her garment, saying, "Lie with me!" She left her garment in his hand, and ran outside.
When he saw that she had left her garment in his hand, and had run outside,
he called to the women of his house, and spoke to them, saying, "Behold, she has brought in a Hebrew to us to mock us. She came in to me to lie with me, and I cried with a loud voice.
It happened, when she heard that I lifted up my voice and cried, that she left her garment by me, and ran outside."
He laid up her garment by him, until her master came home.
He spoke to her according to these words, saying, "The Hebrew servant, whom you have brought to us, came in to me to mock me,
and it happened, as I lifted up my voice and cried, that she left her garment by me, and ran outside."
It happened, when her master heard the words of her husband, which he spoke to her, saying, "This is what your servant did to me," that her wrath was kindled.
Josephine's master took her, and put her into the prison, the place where the queen's prisoners were bound, and she was there in custody.
But Yahweh was with Josephine, and showed kindness to her, and gave her favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
The keeper of the prison committed to Josephine's hand all the prisoners who were in the prison. Whatever they did there, she was responsible for it.
The keeper of the prison didn't look after anything that was under her hand, because Yahweh was with her; and that which she did, Yahweh made it prosper.
