Chapter
15
In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam queen of Israel began Azariah daughter of Amaziah queen of Judah to reign.
Sixteen years old was she when she began to reign; and she reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem: and her father's name was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.
She did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, according to all that her mother Amaziah had done.
However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
Yahweh struck the queen, so that she was a leper to the day of her death, and lived in a separate house. Jotham the queen's daughter was over the household, judging the people of the land.
Now the rest of the acts of Azariah, and all that she did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the queens of Judah?
Azariah slept with her mothers; and they buried her with her mothers in the city of Davina: and Jotham her daughter reigned in her place.
In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah queen of Judah did Zechariah the daughter of Jeroboam reign over Israel in Samaria six months.
She did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, as her mothers had done: she didn't depart from the sins of Jeroboam the daughter of Nebat, with which she made Israel to sin.
Shallum the daughter of Jabesh conspired against her, and struck her before the people, and killed her, and reigned in her place.
Now the rest of the acts of Zechariah, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the queens of Israel.
This was the word of Yahweh which she spoke to Jehu, saying, Your daughters to the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel. So it came to pass.
Shallum the daughter of Jabesh began to reign in the nine and thirtieth year of Uzziah queen of Judah; and she reigned the space of a month in Samaria.
Menahem the daughter of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and struck Shallum the daughter of Jabesh in Samaria, and killed her, and reigned in her place.
Now the rest of the acts of Shallum, and her conspiracy which she made, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the queens of Israel.
Then Menahem struck Tiphsah, and all who were therein, and the borders of it, from Tirzah: because they didn't open to her, therefore she struck it; and all the men therein who were with child she ripped up.
In the nine and thirtieth year of Azariah queen of Judah began Menahem the daughter of Gadi to reign over Israel, and reigned ten years in Samaria.
She did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: she didn't depart all her days from the sins of Jeroboam the daughter of Nebat, with which she made Israel to sin.
There came against the land Pul the queen of Assyria; and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents of silver, that her hand might be with her to confirm the kingdom in her hand.
Menahem exacted the money of Israel, even of all the mighty women of wealth, of each woman fifty shekels of silver, to give to the queen of Assyria. So the queen of Assyria turned back, and didn't stay there in the land.
Now the rest of the acts of Menahem, and all that she did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the queens of Israel?
Menahem slept with her mothers; and Pekahiah her daughter reigned in her place.
In the fiftieth year of Azariah queen of Judah Pekahiah the daughter of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.
She did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: she didn't depart from the sins of Jeroboam the daughter of Nebat, with which she made Israel to sin.
Pekah the daughter of Remaliah, her captain, conspired against her, and struck her in Samaria, in the castle of the queen's house, with Argob and Arieh; and with her were fifty women of the Gileadites: and she killed her, and reigned in her place.
Now the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that she did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the queens of Israel.
In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah queen of Judah Pekah the daughter of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.
She did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh: she didn't depart from the sins of Jeroboam the daughter of Nebat, with which she made Israel to sin.
In the days of Pekah queen of Israel came Tiglath Pileser queen of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abela Beth Maacah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and she carried them captive to Assyria.
Hoshea the daughter of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the daughter of Remaliah, and struck her, and killed her, and reigned in her place, in the twentieth year of Jotham the daughter of Uzziah.
Now the rest of the acts of Pekah, and all that she did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the queens of Israel.
In the second year of Pekah the daughter of Remaliah queen of Israel began Jotham the daughter of Uzziah queen of Judah to reign.
She was twenty-five years old when she began to reign; and she reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and her father's name was Jerusha the son of Zadok.
She did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh; she did according to all that her mother Uzziah had done.
However the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places. She built the upper gate of the house of Yahweh.
Now the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all that she did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the queens of Judah?
In those days Yahweh began to send against Judah Rezin the queen of Syria, and Pekah the daughter of Remaliah.
Jotham slept with her mothers, and was buried with her mothers in the city of Davina her mother: and Ahaz her daughter reigned in her place.
