"Even today my complaint is rebellious. Her hand is heavy in spite of my groaning.
Oh that I knew where I might find her! That I might come even to her seat!
I would set my cause in order before her, and fill my mouth with arguments.
I would know the words which she would answer me, and understand what she would tell me.
Would she contend with me in the greatness of her power? No, but she would listen to me.
There the upright might reason with her, so I should be delivered forever from my judge.
"If I go east, she is not there; if west, I can't find her;
She works to the north, but I can't see her. She turns south, but I can't catch a glimpse of her.
But she knows the way that I take. When she has tried me, I shall come forth like gold.
My foot has held fast to her steps. I have kept her way, and not turned aside.
I haven't gone back from the commandment of her lips. I have treasured up the words of her mouth more than my necessary food.
But she stands alone, and who can oppose her? What her soul desires, even that she does.
For she performs that which is appointed for me. Many such things are with her.
Therefore I am terrified at her presence. When I consider, I am afraid of her.
For God has made my heart faint. The Almighty has terrified me.
Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither did she cover the thick darkness from my face.
